The Government Medical College & Super Facility Hospital is a leading & phenomenal Institution established by State Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2006. The college is affiliated with King George Medical University, Lucknow and running with 100 Undergraduate Medical seats recognized by Medical Council of India, New Delhi. The college has various building blocks with good infrastructure required for Academic and Hospital purpose. It is situated in Chakrapanpur, Azamgarh which is famous for birth place of great writer and Traveler Pandit Rahul Sankrityayan and around 20 km away from Azamgarh District, connected with Railway station & Bus station through Bus, Auto & Taxies.

In 2006, the institution initiates its services at very primary level with Out Patient Departments OPDs and gradually it enhances its shade to serve general public in the form of 140 Bedded IPD & various investigation procedures. Currently GMC & SFH is running with daily OPD, around 550 Beds (General and private wards), well equipped emergency & providing its excellence as various Medical and Surgical procedures. The Hospital has well trained Health Care workers including Clinicians, Nursing Staff & Paramedical Staff.

The Academic activities started in August 2013 with our first Batch of MBBS students by great efforts of Uttar Pradesh Government and the institution continuously upgraded itself by appointment of qualified and skilled Medical faculty, technical staff and ornamented with well equipped laboratory.

The Institution is spread over 105 acre area which includes Administrative Block, Academic Block, Central Library, Examination hall, Auditorium, Lecture Theater & Various Departments of Medical Education. It also consists of different Residents as faculty and staff flats, S.R. Hostel, J.R. Hostel, Boys hostel, Girls hostel, Intern Girls and Boys hostel, Nursing Hostel & Guest house.
